Essex Wedding day for Emma & Adam at Crondon Park
Emma & Adam are a really nice down to earth couple who wed at Essex venue Crondon Park on the 4th June 2015. I'm Chris Woodman, an Essex wedding photographer based in Basildon who was hired to photograph their big day at Crondon which is surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Crondon is ideal for an event such as a wedding where you'll have the full use of the grand baronial hall which includes the ceremony room, bridal suite, private bar and peaceful gardens. The only problem I had as a photographer was what to photograph first as there are so many key areas to cover it's almost unfair. This of course is a lovely situation to be in and I thoroughly enjoyed the day.
It all started back at the brides home in Stanford-le-hope where we captured some emotional getting ready moments whilst the bridal party sipped Emma's favourite tipple - Champagne. The defining moment came when Emma's dad saw his little girl for the first time. He was so proud of her, beaming from ear to ear and it was clear to see - love that!
Another fun decision I made once Emma transitioned into a stunning bride was to photograph the party in next doors driveway using a chair from their home as a prop to pose them. The reason to take the group outside was due to the bright sunshine in the garden which didn't offer much shade at this time of the day and I noticed that their neighbours drive way had a huge tree producing shade for perfect portraits. This was worth taking the extra time as it produced one of their favourite portraits from the whole day and received some amazing feedback.
My whole philosophy and approach to any wedding is to go that extra mile to get the shots for my couples that will last a lifetime and be enjoyed for many generations.
Adam was already at the venue when I left Emma so I knew I could capture those nervous groom shots right away. They both possess quite a laid back personality but you cannot simulate a huge event such as a wedding and it invariably makes even the most laid back person a tad twitchy at the alter. At Crondon, you'll have your own private garden which is fenced off from the rest of the public. This is where the guests can gather in anticipation while offering peace of mind that the youngsters are in a secure environment.
Once married, I took the new Mr & Mrs Marshall to a variety of stunning locations which included the lake, the perfectly groomed hills and gravel pathways among the greenery.
The moments kept coming when we embarked on the second part of the day. The couples meticulous planning even included a music artist during the sit down meal and a fun photo booth in the ceremony room which made for some fantastic images.
One of my favourite images came at the end of the evening when I asked the couple to join me outside in the private garden which includes a gorgeous fountain. I had envisioned this shot when I made one of my scouting visits before the wedding so I knew what it was going to look like before we even took the shot. I had asked the couple to cosy up on the far side of the fountain while I went across to the other side and shot through the cascading water. I had also positioned a light behind the couple to add an extra zing to the image and I just love how it came out. They love the photo and enjoyed the experience.
It was such a relaxed day which was enjoyed by all. A huge thank you to Emma & Adam for hiring my services and congratulations to everyone at Essex venue Crondon Park for laying on the ideal day for them.
