Snow fall during wedding at Woodland park hotel, Cobham leaves magical memories (See how) !!!
Snow fall during the wedding at Woodlands Park hotel, Cobham leaves magical memories for couple Emma & Dan. Built in 1885, the grand building was one of the first in the UK to have electric light & was described as a modern marvel in the early days. It's wonderful appeal continues to this day with a stunning interior making it a popular choice for couples to tie the knot. Both the bride and groom decided to enjoy their entire day at the venue from getting ready right through to party time in the evening.
As the bride completed her gorgeous look by getting into her wedding dress, the bridal party and I had some time spare while we waited in the grand hall ways. It was a moment not to miss with everyone looking amazing in their matching blue dresses. With the ceremony time fast approaching, we just had time to get some lovely images of the star of the show (Emma) before making our way down the stair case in anticipation of the big moments ahead.
Being so close to one another in the same venue, it was easy enough for me to capture the groomsmen getting ready in the room laid out for them downstairs near the ceremony room and still not miss any crucial moments with the bride upstairs. I have to say the groom (Dan) was impressively laid back in the lead up to the ceremony and he took it all in his stride.
The moment arrived and the bridal party carefully helped the bride down the stairs with her beautiful dress. Everything went to plan and we were on time to get the ceremony underway.
The whole ceremony went smoothly and a packed room of guests looked on delighted as Emma and Dan became Mr & Mrs.
It was touch and go for any outside portraits with the weather being the way it was but the couple embraced the moment and we came up with some gorgeous and memorable photographs that they can look back on fondly for years to come. Well done guys for braving the cold - very impressed!
Back into the warmth of the reception room and onto the nervousness of the speeches. We had dad, the groom and the best man saying their piece and it was received really well by everyone in the room and this always makes for great natural imagery :)
So after the sit down meal, the night drew in early as expected for this time of year but that only enhanced my cunning plan. It seems we had someone looking over us for Emma & Dan's wedding day because all the pieces came together to create a truly magical set of images with the snowfall really adding to the scene and summing up the day.
There were still some great moments ahead with the traditional cutting of the cake, the romantic first dance and some excited guests enjoying what was to be a perfect day for the couple. I love the spontaneity of a wedding day and this was filled with natural laughter and people really making the day special for Emma & Dan. It was a pleasure to cover the event and I felt honoured to be part of it all. A big thank you to Emma and Dan and everyone who helped ensure everything ran smoothly. I have to mention the extremely helpful staff at the Woodlands park hotel too as I had plenty of requests to move the hotel reception around to accommodate the group shots indoors rather than having them brave the cold conditions outside. Nothing was too much trouble and I was so impressed with how everyone pulled together :)
