Popular Chelmsford venue, the Channels was a perfect match for Rhianna & Ollie
The Channels is a charming place to tie the knot with plenty of open areas to accommodate all your friends and family. I'm a Basildon wedding photographer & I had the pleasure of photographing Rhianna & Ollie's big day at this very venue. The day had started early because the couple had planned to make more of a night of it for their evening guests by finishing the sit down meal by 6pm. We had a 12.30pm ceremony but first, we were back with the bridal party at Rhianna's parents home. There were some gorgeous details and a very upbeat atmosphere as everyone looked on in anticipation.
Once the bride had finished getting ready, she really wanted her dad to see her last so it was a complete surprise for him. I remember explaining to him that his daughter would be coming down the stairs and that I would be recording the whole event naturally without any planning at all. It's one of the most touching moments of any wedding day and this one didn't disappoint. Pictures really are worth a thousand words. Love it!
So it was on to the venue from here as Ollie (the groom) had opted against having any getting ready shots during the morning. All I had to do was to beat the bride to the venue to continue the wonderful story. The bridesmaids were already ahead of me so I had enough time to get some lovely portraits before the wedding beetle arrived.
Just on the other side of the building awaits the nervous looking groom with the rest of the guests. The weather was kind (although slightly windy) so the first choice outdoor ceremony was going ahead. The guest had taken their places and the groom looked like he had a million and one things on his mind as he had only minutes left before he embarked on a brand new journey as Husband & Wife.
Here we go! The bridesmaids and flower girls made their way down the short aisle towards the alter followed by the star of the show.
Ollie's reaction to Rhianna was priceless and I managed to capture a fantastic fleeting moment in time which the couple now have on their wall as a canvas.
The couple made sure there was plenty to do for the guests after the ceremony with games in the garden area and even an ice cream van which went down really well.
Rhianna & Ollie are so laid back which made the day simply flow beautifully. There was no need to rush anything and they had the day they always thought they would. I decided to photograph the couple together after their meal as I knew we still had good sunlight available due to the fact they had an early ceremony. Both the bride and the groom were up for anything I had in mind and we got some really lovely memories for them to treasure.
It was a really enjoyable day from start to finish and I was made to feel welcome the whole time. I wish the happy couple all the best for the future and no doubt i'll be back with some more special wedding events at the wonderful Channels venue in Chelmsford, Essex soon enough.
